Integration guide
Google Meet integration guide for clinics
Add a Google Meet link to an online consultation and keep the visit connected to its appointment. This guide explains the setup and what the clinic and patient should check.
What the Google Meet integration does
MedOS can attach a Google Meet link to an online appointment through the connected Google Calendar setup. The link gives the practitioner and patient a way to join the consultation while the appointment remains part of the clinic’s schedule and patient record.
Google Meet is for online visit links; it does not replace the appointment board, patient record or the clinic’s other booking and payment workflows.
Before you start
- A MedOS workspace with online consultations enabled for the relevant practitioner.
- An administrator who can manage the workspace Google Calendar connection.
- Access to the Google account the workspace uses for its MedOS calendar.
Set up Google Meet links
- Open the workspace integration settings in MedOS and connect the workspace Google Calendar if it is not connected already.
- In the Google Calendar settings, enable Meet links for online appointments if the option is available in your workspace.
- Book a test online appointment and check the appointment details and its Google Calendar event for the meeting link.
- Confirm the patient-facing confirmation includes the correct join instructions before using the workflow with patients.
The Meet link is optional, and settings may vary by workspace. Review the connected account and calendar settings or contact MedOS support if you do not see a link on the test appointment.
Using a Meet link for a consultation
- Open the online appointment in MedOS and use its meeting details to join.
- Share the patient-facing join instructions using the confirmation flow available to your clinic.
- If the appointment is rescheduled or cancelled, review the updated appointment and its calendar event before sending any separate instructions.
Troubleshooting
- If a link is missing, confirm the appointment is an online visit and the workspace Google Calendar connection is active.
- Check that Meet links are enabled in the calendar connection settings and that the event was created successfully.
- If the patient cannot join, verify the link on the appointment and send the current join details rather than an older message.
Disconnecting or changing video platforms
You can change the clinic’s video setup from the relevant workspace settings. Before disabling Meet or disconnecting the Google Calendar connection, review upcoming online visits and confirm how patients will receive their join details. For help with existing events, contact MedOS support.
